1001 Items And £1001 From A Local Business Supporter
We love our local business supporters and last month, non more so than Grimsby company Advantage Finance Ltd, who really went above and beyond in delivering just what was needed in our Hideout project.
It all started last October when one of our team was contacted by a friend who works for Advantage Finance with regards to an idea they’d had for a gift drive they wanted to hold on the run-up to Christmas.

The Big Idea
Their idea was to set a target of 1000 items to be collected for the women and children, staying in the refuge over the Christmas holidays. All items had to be new with tags and could be anything from toys, toiletries, clothing, or food.
The Pledge
The directors of Advantage then made a pledge that they would donate £1 cash for every item donated.
The Result
In total, they collected a whopping 1001 items which almost filled their storage container and when the team collected the items before Christmas, Marketing Manger Brett Giles confirmed there was another donation of £1001 to follow.

Advantage Finance’s company policy for such donations is to spend the cash on items a charity needs, so after discussion internally, we told Brett that the hideout was in need of consoles and entertainment equipment for the children and the creation of a teenage space.
Advantage then followed up in January and we were overwhelmed when they delivered three Nintendo Switch Consoles to our offices, each complete with games and accessories.
This was just what we needed and were able to put their donation to immediate good use for the young people we support through our Hideout project.

We wanted to thank Advantage Finance and really pass on our heart-felt gratitude to the Directors and team over there, who, through their selfless actions, company policies and genuine desire to do good, have made such a difference to the young people we support.
Women’s Aid NEL really values the support we receive from local businesses and as a result, we’re launching our Corporate Partnership Program, designed to demonstrate ways local businesses can work with us, both to give back and demonstrate their community ethos as well as help fund our vital services.
