Fairway to Freedom: Women’s Aid NEL’s Charity Golf Day Raises Hope and Support

Friday 7th July was certainly a day to remember!

We were delighted and honoured to be able to attend and support one of our longest standing and biggest supporters, Tony Diable of Diable Roofing, who organised what has become an annual event in support of Women’s Aid NEL, his Annual Charity Golf Day.

Held at Cleethorpes Golf Club, 140 golfers making up 35 teams helped raise a fantastic £3000 for the charity, much needed funds to enable us to continue to do the work we do, supporting victims and survivors of domestic abuse.

The weather was lovely and the hole day event tee’d off after early refreshments and plenty of juice to stay hydrated and culminating in prize giving and a meal.

It was great to see so many players and enjoy the day’s competition, all hoping to walk away with one of the many prizes to be played for, including not only trophies but fantastic golf bags, shoes and golfing apparel.

On top of all that the raffle prizes were many and varied, all helping to swell the funds raised by the event.

Women’s Aid CEO Denise Farman said…

“We can’t thank Tony Diable enough for organising this fantastic event, a feat in itself but to attract so much support from so many people and raise, what to us is a huge amount of money for the charity, we truly thank him for his continued support”.

Tony is one of the longest standing supporters of Women’s Aid NEL, offering not only financial support as one of the charities Founder Ambassadors but also giving his time and expertise freely whenever required.

Hole In One…

Hole In One Prize £10,000

The prize of £10,000 for a hole-in-one was hard fought for, with a number of near misses and breaths held but unfortunately, no one managed to hit the mark on the day. Better luck next time!

Cleethorpes Golf Club

Cleethorpes Golf Club was a great venue to host the event. Established in 1894, it’s long local history and fabulous location offered a great backdrop and setting for what is now set to be a regular annual event, with next years dates already booked.
