Women’s Aid are currently talking to Grimsby & Franklin College with regard to advertising our Domestic Abuse Training

We currently offer 10hrs of accredited Domestic Abuse Training for £40 (Continuing Professional Development)

The course is split into 4 weekly sessions – daytime or evening (Grimsby town centre venue)

Week 1 – Domestic Abuse Awareness

Tuesday 23rd April      1pm to 3.30pm  OR
Thursday 25th April    6pm to 8.30pm

Covering, what is domestic abuse; types of abuse and behaviours; why do people stay in abusive relationships; why don’t they leave? Identifying, understanding and how to assess risks; find out what’s available locally 

Week 2 – Understanding Coercive Control

Tuesday 30th April      1pm to 3.30pm   OR
Thursday 2nd May      6pm to 8.30pm

Exploring the definition of coercive control; tactics & behaviours; the power & control wheel; understanding the ever-changing ‘stages’ of control; includes ‘everyone’s’ role in evidence gathering

Week 3 – The Impact of Domestic Abuse on Children

Tuesday 7th May       1pm to 3.30pm   OR
Thursday 9th May    6pm to 8.30pm

This session explores how children are affected when living in homes where there is domestic abuse.

Week 4 – DA & On-Line Safety

Tuesday 14th May      1pm to 3.30pm   OR
Thursday 16th May     6pm to 8.30pm

How does abuse happen on-line; how are women tracked; how do perpetrators get their info; how can women stay safer on line; internet purchases.

We also run an additional course/overview of our Freedom Programme for £10pp

Tuesday 27th February     9.30 to 12.30pm
Tuesday 4th June                9.30 to 12.30pm

An overview of our 12-week programme for women and girls; take part in parts of course; see how women feel, what are their fears; listen to stories & experiences; explore how change happens and find out how to make better referrals to the 12 week programme.
