Help & Support

Options Available to You

If you are experiencing abuse, we're here to help.

** Please use the ‘EXIT SITE’ button above if you need to leave the page quickly **

Quick Jump to The Help You Need:

Police

If you are concerned for your own or someone else’s immediate safety, always ring the Police on 999.

Alternatively, you can ring the Police for a non-emergency on 101.

Although you do not have to report the abuse to the Police, we would encourage this as reporting it builds a case against the perpetrator.

. . . . . A word of caution – leaving a violent and abusive relationship is often a really dangerous time. The abusers can feel they are losing control in the relationship. This may result in the abuse getting worse, and you may be at higher risk – it is important you get support to leave.

Refuge Accommodation

If you need emergency refuge supported accommodation, anytime – Call 01472 575757. (24-hour support) – Also see our ‘Refuge‘ page on this website to find out more information and see pictures.

Outreach Support

Our Outreach Support workers can offer emotional support and a listening ear to those experiencing any form of abuse, who may not want to leave their homes and may not want to live in a refuge.

Support workers can offer someone to talk to about all the options available to you, in confidence and face-to-face in a safe location.  You don’t have to make any decisions until you are ready.

Outreach support is available for both women and men.

Telephone Support

Call us on 01472 575757 (option 1) – for a chat. We are here to listen, if that is all you need, or we may be able to give you options and choices about things that are worrying you.

Please make sure you are safe to make the call, as phone calls may appear on bills or may be traced. You can reverse the charges if you have got no money. We operate a 24-hour emergency helpline.

Email Support

You can contact us via email – support@womensaidnel.org

BUT REMEMBER, please make sure it is safe for you to send and to receive our reply, as emails can be easily traced.

Freedom Programme

The Freedom Programme in NE Lincs is a 12-week, women only, programme offering victims and survivors a weekly opportunity to start to unravel some of the issues that they have experienced.

The course looks at perpetrator behaviours and some of the different roles and characters they play.  It also looks at some of the excuses and the cycle of abuse; every week, we discuss different issues.

Thousands of women and girls have been through the programme, and the outcomes are amazing – many women referring to it as “life changing” – For more information, view our Freedom page
