Domestic Abuse training and information for practitioners, agency workers, students and/or general learners.

Training is offered to individuals

We currently offer accredited 3-hour Domestic Abuse Workshops for £10pp (2.5 Continuing Professional Development points). The training is available to anyone who may be interested in Domestic Abuse.

We operate a waiting list, and when we have approximately 15 people, we will contact you with a date

We offer the following;

Domestic Abuse Awareness

  • What domestic abuse is

  • Why do people stay in abusive relationships, and why don’t they leave?

  • Identifying & understanding risks

  • Knowing what services are available locally, etc.

Understanding Coercive Control

  • Explore the definition

  • Tactics & behaviours

  • ‘Stages of control’

  • Evidence gathering.

The Impact of Domestic Abuse on Children

Exploring how children are affected when living in homes where there is Domestic Abuse.

Domestic Abuse & Staying Safe Online

  • Online abuse

  • Tracking and gaining knowledge

  • Inform clients how to check and manage their online activity

Freedom for Practitioners

  • A practical session to help agency staff and workers better understand the content and purpose of the 12 week programme offered to victims and survivors. Practitioners will get a week by week account of the programme and will have chance to take part in some of the exercises.

  • An 'overview' of local and national practice updates. Very good for those who may have done Domestic Abuse Awareness previously and want to stay updates

Risk Assessments inc DASH Tool
