Day for Girls
Days for Girls (DfG) is a world-wide project which involves women coming together to make washable, easy to use, feminine hygiene kits for girls in developing countries. In some countries, due to poverty, many girls have no feminine hygiene provision and can’t go to school during menstruation, therefore missing out on large parts of their education. (1 week in 4)
We currently run small & friendly quarterly workshops (Thurs evenings) for women of all ages to help make up the low cost, cleverly designed kits, which are then packed by volunteers and delivered to the girls and women. Any skills (machine sewing, cutting, pinning, hand sewing, etc)
Come along to help make a difference and help change lives!
“Give a shift”
Some of our domestic abuse services would not be available if it wasn’t for the success of our charity shops AND the charity shops would not be successful if it wasn’t for the dedication of a great team of volunteers.
Do you think you would like to join them in ‘making a difference’?
Could you come just for a shift to try it out?
We need help in any area – sorting, pricing, ironing, cleaning, serving and/or till work? IT REALLY CAN BE WHATEVER YOU LIKE DOING
For more information – pop in to any of our shops (link to page) or call us on 07766 227 536 and we will be happy to talk to you.
