Diana Broadmeadow

We are deeply saddened to share the news that Diana Broadmeadow, one of the most influential leaders in the history of Women’s Aid North East Lincolnshire, has passed away.

Diana played a central role in shaping the services we provide today. Her commitment, courage and drive helped transform Women’s Aid NEL from a small local refuge into a vital, trusted service that continues to protect and empower women and children across our community.

Her work changed lives.

Her leadership strengthened our foundations. Her belief in a brighter future for survivors continues to guide the way we work.

We will always remember her with gratitude and respect.

A message from Denise Farman – CEO Women’s Aid NEL

I wanted to share some very sad news today that one of our most passionate and dedicated leaders of Women’s Aid has passed away.

Our dear friend Diana Broadmeadow was an extraordinary woman whose unwavering commitment and tireless work changed domestic abuse services in North East Lincolnshire in ways that will continue to be felt for many years.

We also send our love to Diana’s husband David. It is difficult to capture the scale of her impact and what she meant to our organisation and to so many of us personally.

We spent countless days, nights, weekends and years working side by side to reshape and rebuild the services we offered in the late 1990s into the specialist support we provide today.

Because of her vision and determination lives have been saved, lives have been changed and women and children have rebuilt their futures.

She inspired everyone around her to join the vital work of supporting survivors of domestic abuse and we will continue to honour her mission every single day.

Diana will always be remembered at Women’s Aid.

Denise x

With love and gratitude

We are holding Diana’s family, friends and all those who worked closely with her in our thoughts.

Her legacy lives on in every woman and child who finds safety, hope and support through our services today.
