Spotlight On The Women’s Aid NEL Charity Shops

At Women’s Aid NEL, our charity shops are more than just places to find a bargain.

They’re vibrant community hubs that support women and children in need.

Whether you’re a regular shopper or new to our shops, here’s a glimpse into what makes each of our four locations so special.

Have you visited our Hainton Square shop?

As our biggest shop, opened in March 2017, it’s an Aladin’s Cave of clothing, furniture and much more.

With a dedicated team of 79 volunteers, this busy shop recently managed to process nearly 400 bags of donations in one week alone and regularly hits close to these numbers.

Our hardworking team also collected 70 pieces of furniture and delivered 21 items to customers, in the same single week.

The incredible effort of our staff, volunteers and generous donors helps us make a significant difference in the lives of those who rely on our services across NE Lincs.

Women’s Aid NEL e-Bay shop

Our e-Bay Shop is also located next door to the Hainton Square shop, where the team send out around 100 parcels a week and last year raised over £50,000, all of which goes towards helping us continue to do the work we do to support victims and survivors of domestic abuse.

Our Nunsthorpe shop, serving the Nunsthorpe, Scartho, and Grange communities, has become a well loved shop since it opened in March 2021.

Located at 57 Second Avenue, Grimsby, DN33 1NH, this store is all about community spirit.

With 18 volunteers contributing 103 hours each week, the shop receives around 180 bags of donations weekly.

Although we’re always in need of more, our shelves are always stocked with fantastic clothing, accessories and much more.

Situated on the corner of Tiverton Street and Grimsby Road, Cleethorpes, this shop opened in 2005 and is our longest open shop.

We have 16 volunteers, who make it all happen and manage around 200 bags of donations each week.

Typically we have clothing, accessories, small items of furniture and bric-a-brac in the shop, serving the local community and supporting the work done by Women’s Aid NEL.

Our newest shop at Willows, located at 11 Wingate Parade, Grimsby, DN37 9DR, opened in March 2023 and has quickly become a local favorite.

Alongside a wide range of clothing and accessories, this shop boasts a special Wedding Dress section, where all dresses are just £50!

Our team of 25 volunteers works tirelessly to keep the shop running smoothly, handling an impressive 30-40 bags of donations each day.

Whether you’re hunting for a unique find or contributing to our cause, every visit to the Willows shop makes a difference.None of this would be possible without our amazing staff, our dedicated volunteers and the generous donations from our community.
